Travel eSIM guides that tell you the whole truth.

Most "best eSIM" lists are commission rankings wearing a headline. RoamReady is different: we publish how we rank, what we earn, what "unlimited data" actually throttles to — and when you should not buy an eSIM at all. Every provider fact on this site was checked against the provider's own pages in October 2026.

The guides

Destination guides, buying frameworks, and the two honesty pieces most sites won't write.

How to choose a travel eSIM (the honest guide)

The seven criteria that actually matter — and why "best eSIM 2026" lists can't be trusted at face value.

Honesty

When you should NOT buy an eSIM

Short trips, EU roaming, locked phones, needing a local number — the cases where an eSIM is the wrong tool.

Japan

Japan eSIM guide: what to check before you buy

Criteria plus representative providers — global apps and genuinely local options like KDDI (au) and Docomo-network eSIMs.

South Korea

Why trust this site

Four rules, published in full on our methodology page.

Rule 1

Criteria, never "tests"

We don't pretend to speed-test 30 eSIMs across four countries. We compare on checkable criteria — price per GB, caps and throttle policies, tethering terms, refund windows — each linked to the provider's own page.

Rule 2

Dated, sourced facts

Every article carries a "Last verified: October 2026" line with links to the provider pages we checked. eSIM prices churn weekly — so we quote ranges and floors, not fake-precise figures.

Rule 3

Commissions disclosed

We earn affiliate commissions from some providers we cover — Airalo, Saily, Nomad, Holafly, and Sim Local among them. Those links are labeled sponsored, and the earnings never decide the ranking.

Rule 4

"Unlimited" gets unpacked

Most "unlimited" travel eSIMs carry daily throttles or hotspot caps. We quote the provider's own fair-use wording so you know what you're buying.
